I'm Lesley and I'm the owner of Hummingbird Lane Fabrics in Gilbert. I have always been a lover of fabrics.  I used to go into Joann's and touch all the fabrics but I never bought any because I didn't know how to sew.  I got into quilting about 10 years ago when a co-worker of mine brought in some of her quilts to show me.  I used to think quilting was just a bunch of squares in dull or brown fabrics so I had zero interest.  It wasn't until she brought in her quilts that my perspective was forever changed.  Her work was beautiful and used bright and bold fabrics and I fell in love instantly.  I bought a $100 machine on Amazon, took a beginning sewing class to learn how to use the machine and then a beginning quilting class and the rest is history.  I learned to EPP pretty early on.  I'm a fidgeter so this was the perfect thing for me to do when sitting on the couch at night watching TV.  It's also great for traveling!
